Cooking Recommendations
USDA Temperature Recommendations
The USDA recommends that all beef (steaks and roasts) is cooked to an internal temperature of at least 145 °F as measured with a food thermometer. Be sure to cook ground beef to at least 160 °F as measured with a food thermometer.Â
For safety and quality, allow the meat to rest for at least three minutes before carving or consuming. For reasons of personal preference, consumers may choose to cook meat to higher temperatures. Color is not a foolproof indicator and a food thermometer should always be used to determine doneness.Â

Removal Temp
North 40 recommended internal temperature to remove beef from the heat source. When the beef is removed from heat and resting, the internal temp will continue to climb.
